All of the codes are loaded into your note automatically, a significant feature of the WRS EMR System. For example, if your patient is experiencing complications mainly related to pregnancy, you can quickly select the description from the list of codes (ICD-9 640-648) which are already pre-loaded into your note and move onto the next task. If you are charting for a Urinary Tract Infection- Unrelated to Pregnancy, the code 599.0 is already pre-loaded and linked with V22.2. This saves time and frustration of finding the right code and reporting it manually, as well as mitigating possible billing errors.

The surgery scheduling workflow module in Waiting Room Solutions was built to handle preoperative, perioperative and postoperative charting, billing, and scheduling functions as well as to provide a centralized location to view and manage surgical cases. The Surgical Scheduling queue within the OB/GYN EMR is divided into four sections: preoperative management, peri-operative management, postoperative and completed surgical workflow.
Preoperative management is grouped by all patients prior to their surgical date. Peri-operative management is grouped by the date of surgery + 6 days - essentially this is the week of surgery. Postoperative management is the week following surgery until the end of the Medicare Global period. Completed surgical workflow is after the global period or if the surgery has been cancelled.
During the preoperative period, certain items such as insurance authorization, Medical clearance, surgery date, preoperative testing, consent management can all be communicated. During the perioperative period subsequent to the operation there is a process for entering CPT codes that were pre-certified without having to look them up all over again. The data is then seamlessly entered into the patients previous surgical history. In the postoperative management period, the provider is queued as to the global period and prompted for the entry of appropriate modifiers if reimbursements are appropriate. The completed section of the queue is for care subsequent to the global period of care and can be used to retrospectively review surgical cases or manage cancelled cases.
Risk Mitigation
The WRS Workflow System has a Consent Management feature. The web based EMR system also includes automatic appointment reminders and pre-op/post-up instructions sent via phone/email/text. The Order Tracking system tracks all orders issued from the WRS EMR electronically through the entire order life-cycle.
